Today, I’m going to tell you WHY.
Why I am here on the World Race.
Why I know this is God’s will for my life.
Why I’m excited to be here.
Why I’m sad to be here.
Why I was brought here.
And why I said yes.
Why am I here on the World Race?
I’m on the World Race because God called me to the mission field while I was searching for a place where I could go serve Him.
That’s when World Race Journey School came up, and it was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I wanted an opportunity to serve God, grow in my faith, experience missions firsthand, and prepare myself for whatever God wants me to do in the next steps of my life.
Before I go into something more full-time in missions, I wanted a chance to learn, grow, and actually experience what living on mission looks like.
Why do I know this is God’s will for my life?
The easy answer is that we are called to go.
Matthew 28:18–20 tells us to go and make disciples of all nations. As Christians, we are called to share the Gospel and make disciples.
But there’s more to it for me personally. About three years ago, during my senior year of high school, I felt God calling me toward missions. Since then, that calling has continued to come back to me. So when I found World Race Journey School, it felt like an answer to something I had already been praying and searching for. This wasn’t just me randomly deciding, “Hey, I think I’ll go to another country.” This was something I had already felt God leading me toward, and Journey School became an opportunity to say yes to that calling.
Why am I excited to be here?
Ive been here 2 weeks and I’ve already seen so much about myself spiritually that I would have never found out or thought of while I was living in the States not because I couldn’t but because I was so caught up in a system where I wasn’t allowing myself enough time and space to dive deeper and with out knowing how too. On top of that the people I get to go on this trip with are literally so cool they all have an eagerness to grow for God and to grow with each other in community and friendship I couldn’t have asked for a better squad to have on this trip
Why am I sad to be here?
To be frank, I’m not that sad to be gone from home I will miss my family but the wonders of the modern world such as the Iphone i can keep in contact with them my friends are all of in college serving the Lord in their own ways and this gets to be mine while I am sad I don’t get to hang out with them its fine because I’m making new friends here. I do really miss my cat though.
Why was I brought here?
I think I was brought here to be away from the comforts of my life in the states in the same way Elisha had to burn his plow before he left with Elijah I had to fully leave the states to be in an uncomfortable place to actually grow in Christ.
Why did I say yes?
I realized I was done living a lie of saying I was living for Christ when I wasn’t I was living for myself even though I really thought I was doing my best it was a season where I thought that I knew what serving the Lord looked like but since my time here I realized it was this I knew how to serve God physically but I wasn’t serving him emotionally and spiritually in the way that honors him
At the end of the day, that’s really what this whole journey is about for me.
Saying yes.
Saying yes to God’s calling.
Saying yes to missions.
Saying yes to growth.
Saying yes even when I’m nervous.
And saying yes even when I don’t know exactly what comes next.
I don’t know everything God is going to do during this journey, but I know I want to follow Him wherever He leads me.
And my final WHY
“Why was this Blog post so late” at first It was because I was waiting for training camp to be over then was going to blog all about that then I convinced myself that it would be posted after the first week of missions then eventually I realized it was because I was procrastinating so here we are 2 ½ weeks into Journey School and my first blog post goes up
Thank you for supporting my journey even at this first step I am so excited to see the Man I turn out to be at the end of this journey the man I want to be at the end of this journey is someone who Loves God so passionately and so well that I am above reproach when matters of the world come up and that I can stand steadfast in God’s grace.
